Error Messages
This page lists the messages the app can show, what they mean and what you can do about them. A text between braces, such as {0}, is replaced by a name or number in the real message.
Connecting to a Windows Computer
The app couldn't find your PC on the network. Check that the PC is on, that SyncFolder is running on it, and that both devices are on the same network. If it still fails, tap Connect via QR code on the Select a computer page and scan the QR code shown in SyncFolder on the PC.
The computer was found, but the connection isn't ready yet. Wait a few seconds and tap the computer again.
No computer was found yet. This can happen on some networks, or if your access was removed on the PC. Tap Connect via QR code to connect with a QR code.
Computers with SyncFolder were found, but not the one this task was set up with. This happens, for example, after SyncFolder was reinstalled on the PC. Pair again by scanning the QR code.
The PC no longer accepts this device, for example because the device was removed in SyncFolder on Windows. Tap Scan QR code and pair again.
Same cause as above: the computer named in the message has removed your device. Pair again with the QR code.

Scanning a QR Code

The scanned code isn't a SyncFolder pairing code. Scan the QR code shown by SyncFolder on your PC.

Running a Task
No folder is selected for the source or destination. Open the task with Configure and select a folder.
The task has no storage type for its source or destination. Open the task with Configure and choose a storage location.
The app couldn't read the contents of the source or destination. The line below it gives the reason. Common causes: the NAS or PC is off, the device isn't on Wi-Fi, or access to the folder was withdrawn.
The folder on the NAS doesn't exist anymore, or the account has no access to it. Check the folder on the NAS, or select another folder in the task.
A file or folder disappeared while the task was running, for example because it was deleted or moved on the PC. Run the task again.
The results show The next files differ only by letter case or The next folders differ only by letter case. Rename one of the items in each pair and run the task again. See Task states.
Most files were handled, but the listed ones weren't. Run the task again. If the same files keep failing, check that they aren't open in another program and that there is enough free space at the destination.
The action couldn't run because the source or destination isn't configured. Configure the task first.
Storage and Permissions
Your device cannot connect to external USB devices. Your phone or tablet doesn't support USB On-The-Go (OTG), so USB drives can't be used.
Android withdrew access to one or more folders of the Mobile Sync Server. Tap Fix Folders, delete the folders with a red background and add them again.
The app needs permission to show notifications to keep the Mobile Sync Server running in the background. Tap OK and allow notifications in the next popup. See Permissions.
